I noticed I published my 17,000th blog post on this site today. It's taken a bit under 14 years to do that. That's an average of about 3.3 a day, seven days a week, over that period.
And there is still so much to say.
Thanks for reading this post.

It is just an amazing output; even more so as you do so many other things.
I have learnt so much from this blog and the people who post here.
We all owe you our thanks.
Wow. We live in interesting times…
Congratulations! Nobody else (I know of) comes close in either quality or quantity. It’s an extraordinary output – communicating progressive ideas, analyses and critiques day in, day out, to both professionals and lay people (like me) who wouldn’t normally be attracted by a blog entitled ‘Tax Research UK’! Just be sure to look after yourself because there are unusually challenging times ahead. Both people and planet are going to need all the assistance they (we) can get. A sincere ‘thank you’. Be safe. Be well.
PS: typos are forgiven!
Phew, re the last!
There have been more than 17,000
Congratulations, Richard, I love reading your blogs.
Thanks…
Same here, thanks for keeping me entertained and more importantly, better informed. My kids can often be found saying, “Dad’s on that Richard’s blog again”…
Can you imagine what mine say? :0
And thanks…..
Congratulations are in order, Richard.
Well done.
Your blogs encompass a whole range of issues that are both topical in their time, but at the same time they illuminate the wider perspective or narrative, unfolding over various time frames.
Clear and to the point, they also attract frequently thoughtful observations from a commendable variety of commentators. I certainly learn something vital and relevant virtually every day.
And at the moment, they are a vital aid to understanding what is really going on.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks
What amazes me is all the things you fitted in as well – books (is it 3 now?) Twitter, reports, papers, presentations, lectures.
I wonder how many words you have written?
Truly a gargantuan effort and much to admire.
At an average of 300 words per blog it’s over 5 million here
And that’s without the comments…..
That’s about 60 books
I should do a ‘best of’ collection
Thanks Richard.
Glad I stumbled across the blog a few months back.
Keep them coming!
Thanks, I don’t manage to read everything, but so informative and thought provoking. I don’t know how you do it.
Your blog is a still, small voice of reason in a chaotic universe. I have learned much and been well entertained from your posts and the ensuing debates. Thank you.
Thank you
More power to your elbow (combined with the fingers and brain). Thank you for all you’ve done, are doing and will do. Like many, I have learned so much.
Craig
As a long time reader of your blog, and, once upon a time, a regular commentor (and, additionally, having been fortunate enough to have a very enjoyable longish lunch with you once), I can only do what others have done and congratulate you wholeheartedly on a amazing acheivement – particularly given all the other stuff you do (as PSR notes).
I can only add – taking a line from a Northern Soul song that used to be one of my favourites back in the 1970s – Keep on Keeping On (Nolan Porter).
(And before any record geeks get me, I know Curtis Mayfield also has a song by the same name).
Thanks Ivan
We should do that lunch again, one day…..
Indeed. There’ll be plenty to catch up on, that’s for sure 🙂
OK, when it’s possible…
I said you were the most prolific – it’s clear now just how much but thanks for all you do Richard.
In our eyes you rock Richard
World needs thoughtful voices like yours
Congratulations
To 17,000 and more .,.
Thanks…
First thing I read each day and I do read widely, inc the heavies. Incredible and sustained output.
Thanks…
