The video embedded in this tweet (click the link marked pic.twitter) is fantastic. A 23-year-old medical student summarises all that pretty much needs to be said about Boris Johnson slipping into Addenbrooke's Hospital unannounced for a publicity stunt.
ARTIST TAXI DRIVER (@chunkymark) Boris Johnson visit to Addenbrookes hospital he gets booed out and watch as a medical student brands his visit a PR stunt and calls him a coward over cuts

the stark reality, in my humble opinion, is that we can have money for the NHS, schools and so on OR we can have Brexit with all its costs. We can’t have both.
Ian we have always had enough money for the NHS & schools an so on. It’s just in the wrong place. The rich have it all. The 1% are determined that things should stay that way. We have an election coming up, only our votes in the right place will help us change things.
have you ever known any government shy away from a ‘military intervention’ on the basis of lack of funds?
once a government has decided to do something it finds a way of making the funds available.
if the cost of Brexit had ever been a consideration then it would have dictated a pragmatic approach that sought to minimise disruption, something like BINO which would have quickly and simply started seperating us from full membership of the EU,
when ideology trumps practicality cost ceases to be a consideration, a government will spend whatever it takes to achieve the result they desire,
a phrase I encountered recently that really struck home is:
“we can no longer afford the luxury of ideology”
this phrase can be applied beyond politics, to economics, how business is conducted and really any aspect of society where dogmatic principles are clung to long after they’ve ceased to bear any rational practicability.
The medical student is wonderful – very eloquent.
‘Evidence based politics’ – Yes!! If only. There is a standard to aspire to for the future.
Yes, I was very impressed by what she said. It was very noticeable that the BBC, ITV, Sky and Channel 4 never mentioned the booing that Bojo recieved from the crowd at at Cambridge. Compare this with the applause that Corbyn receives on his visits.
