This campaign seems to have taken-off in recent months. As the campaign grows, rather than attend protests themselves, the reaction of many people will be to boycott the tax-avoiding companies. They’ll take their custom away, but then the question arises where can they take it.
So, if people wish to boycott Vodafone, which alternative providers should they consider? Which providers are tax-compliant? If M&S are ducking their tax obligations, who can we go to instead who won’t later be listed as another tax-avoider. For every tax-avoider identified, there needs to be a signpost of some sort suggesting where people take their business.
Are there any corporations who stand out as beacons in tax compliance?
