What are tax havens used for in 2021?

Posted on

Most people still think tax havens are used for cheating income and corporation taxes, but the truth is that much of that is  easier using companies in places like the UK and USA now than it is offshore and so tax havens have adapted and changed their game.

It's important to know what they're really about in 2021 if the role that they play is to be properly understood. They're still abusive, in my opinion, but in different ways. Tax justice campaigning has to change to allow for that.

PS: I recorded this on Friday afternoon when it was pretty hot. I forgot to close the back door. The result is that the pretty active sparrow and starling population in my back garden get a look in. Apologies!
