Earlier this week I asked if anyone who reads this blog might be willing to help me with the creation of an ebook that would feature some of my recent Twitter threads since they had appeared to have resonated with a good number of people.
Several people offered, to whom I am grateful. I chose to work with David Mullins, who is a graphic designer. The result is that I can now report that the proposed eBook (which will be most readily available as a PDF) has a title, cover and more than 90 per cent of its contents. The cover says it all for now:
I hope that this will be out very soon. I have a weekend of writing to do.
Contrary to some advice I will not be engaging an editor. The vast majority of the content of this book will come from threads and articles already published, and except to correct typos and any minor errors I do not want to change them. The object is to retain the energy of the original posts. I have nothing at all against editors, but I don't think revisions will help achieve that objective.
The book will be free, and be available to share as long as no charge is made. Donations will be accepted, of course, but that is not the purpose of this exercise, which is to make clear that the government and the opposition (as well as most other UK political parties) have got their economic policies horribly wrong, and that there is a real alternative. Education is the aim. So when it's out you will be most welcome to share it.

A good editor might subtract some words but will add to the energy. Hire one would be my wholly appropriate suggestion.
Rather like a mutated coronavirus where a couple of redundant code segments get removed to give a slightly lighter virus which can travel further.
Excellent. And what a brilliant title
Yet again, you are a beacon of hope in the darkness that is created by the current Govt policies. You’re right, education is important so thanks for doing this Richard!
And a foreword from Dire Straits ?
No, this the argument that we’re nowhere near them
Brilliant title and illustration.
I think you may have to complete the rest of the lyrics and record it. Then you really could be a You Tube sensation.
Maybe not. ….
Will try to get the Labour Party (local , London, and National) to set up a policy discussion forum – taking the book as the starting point . Dodds, and other shadow front benchers need a crash course. Their recent utterences have been woeful.
Such opportunities are the aim
Every primary school needs it distributing to, like free mid morning milk used to be.
Every school gate parental queue.
Every doctors surgery and hospital waiting room.
Every tenant of a private landlord and mortgagee paying the majority of their income on rent for a home half the size of a 60’s/ 70’s council house.
And certainly every one who sympathised with the BrexShiteer propaganda that it was foreigners, from the EU, that were the cause of the Austerity imposed upon us, as an excuse of paying back the bankers crash.
I’m serious, it is time to by-pass the MSM and the devious SM platform targeting of individuals with algo’s.
The only way forward is with pamphlets, graffiti, songs and mass protest with a single voice.
I will happily print up a thousand copies and distribute them on my daily travels.
It’s quite long for doing that…
Cracking stuff Richard and David! I look forward to downloading a copy.
On a different note, I noticed that one of the apparent trolls yesterday was writing under my first name, which was a little unsettling – I would like to make clear that “Johan” is not me.
He most definitely is not you
@Andrew Broadbent.
Labour Party discussion forum. Count me in.
Send a copy to Pope Francis. His “Let us Dream” is paean to economic solidarity/justice and a finger-wag to the neolibs. He needs to know what now to move towards…. His stock is particularly high following the visit to Iraq.
Love your writing. Typos I can forgive. I absolutely hate autocorrections which make me think three times and totally interrupt the flow of your wonderful rants. Turn it off!
I will disseminate your ebook far and wide.
What a great idea. Victor Hugo said ‘There’s nothing so powerful as in idea whose time has come’? Perhaps an appropriate quote in your book?
And you are absolutely right about it being essential, overdue education.
But I wouldn’t be satisfied with an ebook. It’s too important, timely and would have wide appeal. I feel sure a print book would be readily published and for this an editor would be helpful. My daughter edited mine and it was much the better for it. You might find that an interested publisher will do the editing for you anyway. Many – most? – published authors have masses of publisher help. Stephen Hawking did with his first book and I’m sorry, yours is much important.
If this translates on to be a book it would need revision
Then I would willingly work with a good editor

Thank you, will spread the word. And the e-book 🙂
