I wrote about toxic power this morning, and then I noticed this from Tom Bergin (an old friend) and others in Reuters:

The report appears to be easily accessible.
This is what toxic power looks like. Trump and his family have simply fleeced gullible Americans (and maybe others) who believed in them, and should not have done.
If you want to know why we need to tackle toxic power, this is one reason.

And who is to say this won’t happen under Farage?
The naivety of some people leaves me speechless at times.
It would.
That is glaringly obvious.
I think of Fa***e, like his orange fading war criminal hero, first and foremost, as a grifter. Most of our far right and fascist figureheads are grifter$, and doing v nicely out of it.
Yaxley-Lennon is a v succe$$ful grifter, with political fixers giving him a v comfortable lifestyle, all bills paid.
Fa***e grifts as a gold trader, a paid promoter of gold, a paid promoter of crypto, and a recipient of huge amounts of foreign donations and billionaire subsidies which sometimes he calls personal donations and sometimes party donations, as payment for destroying democratic norms. IPSA is currently making formal enquiries. He gets a lot of private climate-wrecking jet hours given him.
Why has he been in politics for the last decade? For the benefit of Mr. Nigel Fa***e. Just like Donald Trump and his Chicago-style “family”.
What interests me is who is behind the grifters, feeding them their lines as well as their cash, to reap the political harvest?
Those wanting to bring down Reform UK Ltd. need to do 2 things…
1. Invest in the areas of genuine grievance, amongst his voter base – a pork-barrel politics but with integrity and follow-through.
2. Expose the grifting, the dishonesty, the graft, the bungs, the criminal acts, the corrupt donations the hypocrisy – the sort of demolition job that was done on Corbyn, but this time, by telling the truth, in tabloids, Facebook, X and TikTok and parliament, day after day, heckling, challenging, and shaming him.
For a start, we could switch the attention of the Starmer’s tame judges from sentencing faux terrorism offences, to sentencing those who incite riots, promote violent disorder and practice sedition. At present, we are prosecuting, convicting and jailing the wrong people.
Much to agree with
Well, in the US The Heritage Foundation certainly have their influence:

And their influence goes wider across the Atlantic too 🙁
I tried to watch BREXIT: A Very British Civil War on iPlayer and got the distinct impression that there was something celebratory about it no doubt because one of the most damaging things the country has done to itself recently is just turned into entertainment. The only person who gets close to what BREXIT was about is Corbyn to be fair, who talks about austerity (maybe Milne too). But really, the programme is just promo vehicle for Farage and the seditious swine who supported him. But to turn BREXIT into light-hearted entertainment when its effects live on so badly, and all that stuff about Cambridge Analytica (the mass manipulation of personal data) is just it seems swept under the carpet………….
Fascism is death and the country is dancing with it right now. Labour’s dithering will not help.
Take anyone from the far right and you’ll get this behaviour.
That’s the only area of competence they actually brightly shine in.
Yet, due to neoliberal indoctrination for decades, a lot of people seem to think like in wars:
“We have lost so much now to get to this ultimately good goal of….. well, whatever this goal might be it surely will be better than any alternative. So can’t give up now! Let’s intensify the effort by doing the same thing over and over again, hoping for this time a different result!”
So many people are really, really crazy.
They’re for the most part not stupid but indoctrinated with TINA.
Somehow TIARA needs to get in their heads.
I refuse to think that that’s not possible!
I think John Harris sums it up perfectly in his conclusion
“A nation with solvable problems is being recast as violent dystopia, close to civil war, and why? To smooth the path to power of some of the most terrifying politicians Britain has ever seen.”

Agreed
The hard and far right are almost salivating at the prospect of a civil war. If they set the people at each other’s throats, nobody will notice them enriching themselves and their paymasters.
And if this doesn’t sum it up:
Zia Yousuf is doing a talk tomorrow about Reform’s immigration policy under the guise of Saving Britain and Saving the West for The Heritage Foundation:
