Having posted this morning's video, I am now taking the day off.
Some of the Funding the Future team will be at a national model railway show today. If you happen to see us, say hello.

Enjoy!
I am off to the West Wilts Society of Model Engineers track in a moment
Enjoy
Model steam chuffas. I used to visit Royden Park in the Wirral – model railway with steam trains. Wonderful stuff.
Noted – daughter at University of Liverpool – ‘need to configure a visit then to er….’see her’, ahem ahem.
Murkeyside. My partner wants to go (me the guide) – it is “interesting”.
I can recommend Lime St Station @ 1000hrs on a Thursday or Friday (November). The police assured me that what I was seeing was entirely normal. 🙂
If it gets to hot it looks like there’s a wild swimming spot next to the exhibition site
🙂
I used to visit the Astle Park steam rally in Cheshire in times gone by. I’ll never forget seeing Fred Dibnah reverse a steam roller into position with the wheel in one hand and a pint of Guinness in the other. Mind you, as I can confirm from experience, there’s noting like an hour spent inhaling the aroma of coal smoke and engine oil while driving such an engine to make a pint of said fluid taste even better than usual!
🙂
Richard,
I appreciate you are very busy and may wish to just bin this:
Off topic and not meant for publication but possibly a subject for a future blog/video regarding the capability of an MMT-aware government to invest in large projects.
The attached story relates to Australia’s failure to collect much revenue from it’s LNG sales. Private investors built the infrastructure, took the risk and now take all the profits as well. Norway’s government were heavily involved in the initial investment and now collect most of the profits. What does an MMT perspective show us in this regard? Can a currency issuing government simply create money without risk to invest in such projects and thus make a real investment in the future of the country which will earn foreign currencies from sales enabling further investments via imports.
