I took time off over the weekend, whilst doing a lot of reading on money, seeking to find ways to reconcile chartalist (MMT) and Marxist positions on this issue via Foucault.
It was a weekend for big, East Anglian skies:

And windmills:

Chiffchaffs were hiding in trees:

As were comma butterflies:

Avocets (the most elegant of birds) were out in the open:

And the dandelions were magnificent, as ever:

Without breaks like this, writing here would not happen.
Most pictures were at Welney; the windmill was at Wicken Fen.

I love the dandelion, although I am hard pushed to stop it seeding everywhere (hard to resist blowing a few clocks too). Little suns in spring, feeding insects. Thank you for sharing your photographs.
Thank you
I wish I could spot birds, but I never seem to see any other than sea gulls and pigeons. There are supposed to be Dartford Warblers near me, and I thought there were puffins at Dancing Ledge, but apparently there are only 4 breeding pairs this year. I’ve never seen a chiff chaff either. Not sure I’d recognise one if it was two feet in front of me. I went to Lundy Island but didn’t know that the puffins are only there in April and May. What a philistine I am!
Nigel
It comes down to practice, like most things.
The Dartford Warblers are in Arne.
Enjoy what you see, I say.
How is the local group going?
Richard
Yes. I’ve walked for hours in Arne and never saw a DW. Unfortunately I can’t walk so far these days and it’s quite a long way from the RSPB car park.
Sorry, I should have updated you about the local group. I’ve met the one who lives near me and contacted the rest (now 15 strong), but because of the present situation I feel it is not appropriate to be using up resources in travelling in order to hold a face-to-face. Also, I’ve been suffering from sciatica since Easter which is preventing me from doing much other than sitting and lying down. Thankfully improving and I do know that it goes away of its own accord eventually. I have been told by my physio to stop putting such a thick wad in my back pocket.
Good luck then, and go well
Keynes never took time off if you believe the overall purview of this article
https://thecritic.co.uk/why-keynes-was-wrong/
In fact it was Hayek who allowed the narrative to slip away from him, thinking that Keynes would come around eventually. Sadly he died, young by today’s standards, 80 years ago tomorrow
A ludicrous piece by a person whose opinion is not worth noting
