GB News continues to be a disgrace.
I have been quite regularly invited to appear on this channel since it began. On every single occasion that they have asked, I have refused.
On every such occasion I have told the person calling, emailing or texting me that my reason for refusing was that I would not appear on a television channel that appears happy for some of its presenters to put forward neofascist views.
I have never regretted my decisions, least of all now.
It is time that this channel was taken off air.
It is time that Tory MPs who are presenters on it were held to account for what they are doing.

I think it fair to say that the existence of GB news helps us to understand the nature of money and wealth that has been generated by Thatcherism over the years.
GB news is Thatcherism’s ‘coming of age’ – it is were wealth – engorged by low taxes and regulation – has literally undertaken a coup to do what it wants in order to maintain its gains, its position and it ability to continue to accrue money and assets to itself. It’s as simple as that.
It is thoroughly undemocratic as I thought that MPs could only speak through Parliament. What does it say about Tory attitudes to Parliament? A hell of lot of destain it seems to me.
Given the easy ride people like the BBC give the Tories there is no justification for what Rees Mogg and others are doing. It is pure propaganda and of course enabled through fat donations no doubt by the unaccountable rich.
And people will watch it and suck it all up.
And is it tolerated it seems within broadcasting regs. With a new government we need a clearout of this crap but I don’t think we are going to get one.
Because neo-liberalism doesn’t work, and has fundamentally never worked, it can only be defended by organised lying and as with all lying the pretence can only be kept up by continually expanding the lie machine and by telling ever bigger lies.
I think Trump’s mug shot, that he obviously spent so much time on trying out poses in front of mirror to get just right, says a lot about the level of communication and Democracy we have descended to.
It is exactly the face that you would expect from a not very bright seven year old bully terrorising a five year old for their dinner money.
It is mind-boggling that the media tools for manipulating people are now so powerful and easy to use that such a man could soon be the US president for life.
I applaud your stance with regard to GB news. So why do you not also follow the same principles with regard to twitter /X under Musk’s ownership and direction ? This is creating and enhancing the same vile mysogonistic , neo fascist views of the world.

Avoiding Twitter is like avoiding paper or the internet because both can be abused, and are. It makes no sense. Avoiding GB News presenters does make sense.
For starters, can we stop them calling themselves GB News?
This is misleading.
They are an entertainment channel (which is why MPs can work for them apparently.)

To pick up on the theme of what I would consider to be the arrogance of wealth, it is interesting to note the article which begins on the front of today’s Guardian about the investigation by HMRC into Lord Bamford’s tax affairs. After moving to and reading the inner continuation, which covers a further one and a half pages, and involves a cast that included Johnson and Truss, drawing all the threads together gives us another view into the dystopia that iconstitute the contemporary British polity and economy.
