Whatever is happening now, it’s certainly getting the Hallett Enquiry out of the news. Hardly seen anything about it so far. I wonder if that was Johnson’s intention.
This was two years ago from Byline Times.

Unfortunately, although we agree with Monbiot, it will probably get as much notice as Byline Times and other non-MSM news.
I hope Monbiot writes that in the Guardian.
One good thing about yesterday’s vote is that Liberty is taking Braverman to court over it. They have already sent her a pre-action letter.
I note that the Guardian isn’t really covering what happened in the House of Lords yesterday relative to Labour washing its hands over the repressive statutory instrument concerning public protest. It feels like the Guardian has decided to throw its public opinion forming weight in favour of getting Starmer elected. This is probably why George Monbiot has not been allowed to have an opinion piece on the matter in the Guardian and this video is the only way of getting out his views.
I very much doubt the Guardian tell George what he can write about
Editorial control threw Danny Blanchflower off Twitter as you’ve observed. I’m sure that editorial control at the Guardian can do the same in a more nuanced way to George Monbiot to influence political preference. George’s comments in his video were very good and should be in a written opinion piece in the Guardian with comments turned on. We’ll probably never know why it wasn’t there in written form in the first place.

Yes, very good by Monbiot. This raises a question: what to do about the coming by-elections, some of which Liebore hope to win. This is not a done deal.
Perhaps this is a chance to offer alternatives – & given Liebore will be campaigning hard – to disrupt them & their “message” such as it isn’t. The Greens could be one way forward – but to be honest – they are far far too nice. Given the dirty tactics of the vile-tory party and the equally vile-Liebore party – perhaps said tactics offer attack lines for an alternative – whilst at the same time coupling these attack lines to something positive – e.g. warm comfortable homes, fairly priced energy, fairly paid jobs (with prospects), affordable justice for all, and a country with a positive vibe,
As long as there is inequality – there will will fascism that exploits such inequality.
Laboured could be concentrating now on policies where the rich would have enough, and those losing out since even from 1997 could have more and make up their losses.
Monbiot’s clip is spot on in my view – the Tories curbed Blair with the PSBR in the later 1990’s and now they are going to geld Laboured again even when not in power.
You cannot do politics without having some balls.
Apparently Stymied does not believe this.
Corbyn has set up the Peace and Justice Project. It wants everything on your list.
You can find it on Facebook.
Thank you JenW
It ought to be clear by now that Keir Starmer has the morals of an alley cat as they used to say but very clearly a large number of ignoramuses are going to vote for him. This takes us back in time to Weimar Germany and Hitler gaining the support of ignorant people. History repeating itself yet again!
“Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.” There is a lot of past (and present) being blotted out by the ever busy propaganda mills at the moment.
Every time capitalism collapses as it is doing now the extreme Right makes big advances . It happened between the wars. An increasing number of states have Fascist governments. Hungary,Poland,Italy . Slovakia looks as though it is next. The extreme Swedish Right are in coalition . Something I never thought possible. The same modus operandi use by Fascists down the years is being used in the UK. A totalitarian government is a whisker away. It is not fanciful to believe these Tories could provoke violence on our streets and call a state of emergency. The laws implemented already could be used to mount a coup. The forces of the establishment would support them to the hilt. The police, the armed forces and the judiciary can’t be trusted.
