It is very rare that I do not blog for two days in a row, but felt unable to over the last two days.
I got something called an otitis externa late last week, and having had one before knew that this required a pretty urgent course of antibiotics if some significant pain was to be avoided. Thankfully, my GP responded very quickly using an online service, and as a result the worst was avoided, but I still felt as though I spent the weekend fighting a very heavy infection, which has not quite gone away as yet. There will be some blogging this morning, but I hope to be back to normal tomorrow.
All of which proves that I do know when to listen to my body, on some occasions.

Taking the rest of the day off
Get well soon
And well done private medicine for once.
It was the NHS, of course
As ever, you’re wrong
speedy recovery Richard, take a break, the blog can wait a bit,
Sad to hear this as I had assumed you were just taking a well deserved break. Get well soon. No doubt there will be much talk about later this week…
Really? 🙂
Get well soon! Don’t worry about the blog. You don’t owe us blog readers anything whereas we owe you an awful lot for your tireless work. If you need a break, take it.
Thanks
I seem to be watching a lot of snooker this long weekend.
Richard,
First, get well soon
Second, my experience is that the best things, well for me anyway are written when the mood is on you, so if the urge or ability to write isnt on you I quite understand
I’ve had that condition a number of times in the past (in my 20’s) and it is very unpleasant indeed.
My doctor told me not to scratch that area with any thing (including the temple tips of glasses which can be the biggest culprits – the tips of the bits that go over your ears) and treat it gently.
Nice to see you back.
Thanks
Knackered tonight
