This began as a family joke:
It seemed to resonate though, given the number of likes.
And for the record, the picture was taken by my wife. And after six years apart we are now living together again. Some good things came out of lockdown.

Wonderful!
Your list will be applauded by all right-thinking, decent people even if it lifts you (and the rest of us now) higher up MI5/GCHQ’s list of people to watch. It’s a pity that our church leaders, along with the Guardian, are so fearful of upsetting our State Government that they let so much injustice, and trampling of basic Christian values, pass without comment, let alone challenge.
However, I was over the moon with the news of you and your wife. Made my day.
Hmmmmm……………..but where’s your pitchfork?
I’m still sharpening mine.
On the other matter, enjoy each other’s company.
Without too much effort, I expect you could find a different revolutionary T-shirt for every day of the week – starting with Marxist organisations like the National Trust, Barnado’s, and the England football team.
Indeed…
And then those hotbeds of socialism, the OECD, IMF and World Bank could get a look in too
Glad you are back together. Good luck for the future for you and your family.
Congratulations!
Like many I have at last got round to making a regular donation to the RNLI. It took that comment comment to push me into action.
Pitchforks are just inside the entrance on the left in the Mole Valley store in Frome.
But I can do one better having snatched a small boy from the grasp of Davey Jones himself – OK he’d lost control of his dinghy on the Docks in Bristol one autumn afternoon in 1980, I get the handcuffs.
I have been a passenger on the 1966 Turbine Steamer Ben My Chree & the Paddle Steamer Waverley when they were involved in rescues, in the latter case one of those saved was Russian (UK resident) but presumably Priti Patel would have had the crew throw her back? I cant imagine that getting Immigration to turn up on a Sunday Evening to Clevedon Pier would be easy.
Love it!
I have been a long time supporter of the RNLI and have had, on occasion, interaction with the Coastguard and RNLI. I have a deep respect for all they do.
On the east coast we heard the coast guard on the radio……..
Humber Coastguard: We have reports of a vessel in distress near Saltburn. Could any vessel in the area please call Humber Coastguard.
Me to crew: Wow, we are near Saltburn, this could be exciting, let’s give them a call!
Otago: (doing my best to suppress the excitement) Humber Coastguard, this is Otago. We are 2 miles east of Saltburn, can we be of any assistance?
Humber Coastguard: We have had a 999 call reporting a white sailing vessel in distress in your area, can you see anything?
Otago: No vessels in sight and visibility is more than 5 miles – certainly no sign of any vessel in distress.
Humber Coastguard: Thank you Otago, can I ask, what sort of vessel you are, please?
Otago: Errrrrr…… we are a white sailing vessel!
Humber Coastguard: Are you experiencing any problems?
Otago: No, we are fine, thank you.
No idea what we did to prompt a member of the public to call 999 – I didn’t think we were THAT hopeless…… but nevertheless, grateful that a member of the public called in when they thought something was amiss, grateful for the professional response from the Coastguard and pleased that nobody was in peril.
Very good
Well done on getting back together. The UK is starting to look like a better place. We have covid hospital admissions turning downwards at last, more talented young male Africans can make it across thanks to the wonderful RNLI donations, and a reconciliation. Must have been in part down to all those approving re-tweets.
