There’s also control, which is the central core: Thou Shalt Do What We Tell You. We are the ones in control, we know best, you Shall do as we tell you because we tell you to, nobody else should have any control, all control is ours, any other control is forbidden and is treason, and it’s clear that what we tell you to do is best for you because we are telling you it’s best for you, and it’s clear that we are the ones who should be in charge because we’re telling you that we are the ones that should be in charge. Everything else is either a consequence of this, or is used to enforce it.
As a point of triangulation it chimes a lot with Timothy Snyder’s studies of fascism too.
In order to demonstrate that Johnson’s government and the Tory party in particular are not hypocritical then can I suggest that they start by cancelling VE Day in future as they are now the cheerleaders in creating the next Facist state in Europe.
