I share this from Church Action of Tax Justice, with whom I have long cooperated:
Council Tax hits the poorest the most. It could be different. Take action by emailing your MP for a fairer tax system now https://t.co/YShkUQSkBH #FairTaxNow pic.twitter.com/UB2yNwKAkZ

There is a link to take action. Please consider doing so.
There is more evidence to support Andy's story here.

It’s a heart wrenching story. It could have been improved by saying fair play to the council, they are only doing what they are instructed to as tax collectors, they did send a reminder, then a summons, then a magistrates court liability order and an I&E form and then there was a letter and phone call from the enforcement agency before the next thing he knew about it was the bailiff calling.
The video could also have been improved by mentioning the astonishingly high taper rate if you’re in range of Council Tax Support and that the maximum Band Range in England is 3:1, when house values are in a much wider range. You don’t need a mansion to be in the top four tenths of the distribution.
Perhaps the Church Action of Tax Justice needs some better tax consultants. Where would you look for some that really know their stuff, I wonder.
With respect, I think you might really need a lesson in empathy. All you succeed in showing is indifference. And I am actually rather sorry about that.
You also show not the slightest comprehension of the massively regressive nature of council tax. Again, that is not to your credit.
I suspect you feel good about this comment. You should not.
