For the sake of full disclosure I should note that I have formed a new company limited by guarantee called Corporate Accountability Network Limited. It was going to be called Accounting Standards Network Limited but the word standards is regulated and so a different name was chosen.
The company is not trading as yet.
It will be partaking in research grant applications and so might do so in future. It does, however, have a logo:
The core circle is the corporation: the six smaller rings the stakeholder groups to whom it should report.

The logo design concept is great.
Good luck with this.
Despite the times we live in, you’ve still got plenty of ‘get up and go’.
I am 60
And do not intend to retire before I am 83
That means more than half my campaigning career is still ahead of me
You are using it as a platform to raise funding?. Is just the name and logo which seperates it from tax research?
The idea has the backing of several people in several countries right now and the plan is to work in partnership
This is different from Tax Research LLP as result
The little people can only affect change by voting at the ballot box, or by how they spend their money. It looks like you’re going for a 3rd route and I look forwards to it. Twenty three more years of campaigning for the biggest show in town to have even more of our resources.
60 is the new 40!
Time to strike forth and make your fortune
The very best to you and the new venture – I am looking forward to seeing it’s work and success.
I am not seeking to make a fortune
Enough to feed me and my sons will do
Sixty is the new forty they say.
And they used to say life begins at forty. Good on ye !
It’s odd – I remember my parents celebrating 40 as if it was the beginning of mid life with 20 years or so of expectation of healthy living to go
We should celebrate the change
Richard, the acronym is redolent of Obama’s campaigning slogan, Yes, we can. He didn’t, though he could have. Let us hope you can.
I simply try
But can we change corporate accountability?
I have no doubt we can
Why are you using a company rather than a LLP? You have criticised the use of companies in the past.
Will the company be publishing accounts? Will the company’s funding be disclosed? Will you be paying UK income tax and national insurance on income from the company?
Have you noticed the name it is using?
What do you think?
I don’t know Richard. That is why I am asking you to clarify:
– Why are you using a company rather than a LLP?
– Why a company limited by guarantee rather than a company limited by share capital?
– How will you be remunerated from the company – salary? profit share? dividends?
– Will the company be publishing accounts?
– Will the company’s funding be disclosed?
– Will you be paying UK income tax and national insurance on income from the company?
Your response would be appreciated.
a) Because it’s a not for profit
b) Because it’s a not for profit
c) Only a salary is possible. It’s a not for profit
d) Have you noticed the name?
e) Yes
f) Yes, as I always have
And let me ask one
Have you any more Worstall inspired questions?
