Donald Trump is thinking of tearing up the Paris climate agreement.
Ed Balls danced Strictly, Gangnam style.
And elected Labour was nowhere to be heard.
Of course there isn't a crisis on the UK's left.

“Elected Labour was nowhere to be heard”
While Jeremy Corbyn isn’t the most effective communicator I’ve ever seen, I wouldn’t call this “nowhere”: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37956387
best
Howard
I accept that is brief coverage
But of what?
And what did it mean?
Taking in vested interests means not a lot without some substance attached

Richard
that is totally the problem with UK Labour right now – it is offering nothing of substance. The only substantive ideas that the Corbyn surge ever had came from you, Richard, but they abandoned those ideas long ago.
I fear you are right
I do wonder if he would have been elected without those ideas
I wonder if he ever understood them
I know John McDonnell either does not or rejects them
Corbyn was on Marr earlier and to be fair made a number of perfectly valid points. Problem is he’s saying nothing original or particualarly well observed, and his delivery is so lacklustre. Even when I’m agreeing with him I want to give him a nudge and say liven it up, Jeremy.
Ed did liven it up. His performance had me in stitches. It was one of the most entertaining things I’ve seen in years.
That’s Corbyn
And the left
Lacklustre
Balls was very funny on Strictly
I only saw an extract but I’d hardly say funny- grotesque and hideous came to mind- I never want to see it again.
Labour – S ……..oh what’s the use?
We know that the Left has been in crisis for sometime and the motivations that produces BREXIT and Trumpland is just another iteration of what we already know about that crises.
But what does this tell us about Liberalism? What I am seeing is pushing the boundaries of Liberal thought and tolerance. The result can only conflict I’m afraid. In fact from a human POV, conflict is now the only rational way to protect what Liberalism has given us. That is my view.
Not sure what is going on in The Guardian but they thought it worth 2 articles. Probably because they could not decide whether to round it off with a Tory rebuttal or former Militant members trying to rejoin.

Labour could & should be saying the following:
Jobs. What needs to be done to generate fairly paid jobs that will be around for more than 3 to 5 years? This is the question that Corbyn and his colleagues need to answer.
Answers
Renewable build out. But most of the kit is made outside the UK
(= what needs to be done is to raise local content & South Africa – oddly – has some answers)
Energy efficiency wrt houses: long term potential employment & reduced CO2 emissions & reduced energy poverty (the order does not reflect the priority)
Circular economy: build to maintain – not throw away & replace
Community energy: build it where it is needed (and sell it cheaper & thereby enhance energy efficiency and the circular economy). What are Labour-controlled Local Authorities doing? Not a great deal ………they can’t even organise effective collective switch.
There are no shortage of policies that would deliver the second sentence (above) in the life time of any Labour government. The puzzle is, why do we hear nothing from Corbyn & his team. I find it very strange.
I’ve been working on this for years
And ears are very deaf to it, bar August 2015
