You may be interested to know that the school opposite the Trades Club used to be Hebden Bridge Grammar School where Bernard Ingham, Margaret Thatchers Senior Press Secretary went to school. My sister was there at the same time, she told me a couple of years ago that she didn’t like him then either!
🙂
Ignore Bernard Ingram – he’s not typical of Hebden Bridge! You will like the place – I lived in a commune there for a few weeks back in the late 70s, and I am told it still has a progressive spirit. I can almost smell the pachooly oil when I see the name!
I hope the Spirit will move Hebden Bridge Quakers to take this concern to their Area Meeting and thence to Meeting for Suferings!
Me too
Hi Richard,
Great to hear you will be talking at Hebden Bridge!
I used to live in Todmorden nearby but now moved to Bradford.
I am starting an alternative economics radio show at Bradford Community Broadcasting and wondered could we meet up whilst you are in the area for a short interview (maybe just before or after your talk?)
The title of the show will be “Why don’t economists….?” and that will be the first question!
Cheers
Marie
If we can meet at the meeting that would be good
I am sure we can fir it in
Best
Richard
