Indeed! The main aim of the bedroom tax is certainly not to rehouse overcrowded families but to create public contempt for social housing as ‘free’ housing outside the rapacious rent/mortgage millstone scenario. The Tories have succeeded in channelling the anger of on high rents and absurd mortgages onto the spittoon of those in social housing. In short, they want everyone to be in the same real-estate-rip-off hell! If Tories are in again expect the landlords to be grabbing prime location social housing quickly and cheaply!
This changed under the Labour government.
