And as if by magic look what Jersey is up to all of a sudden….
JERSEY’S Chief Minister will lead a delegation to China next week to promote the Island and raise awareness about the services it can offer.
Senator Ian Gorst, Assistant Chief Minister Senator Sir Philip Bailhache and representatives of the finance industry and the Economic Development department will begin by visiting Beijing, before moving on to Shanghai, Hangzhou and Hong Kong.
In Beijing, the Chief Minister will attend meetings at the Chinese ministries of foreign affairs, commerce and agriculture and the People’s Bank of China.
He will also meet the UK Ambassador to China, as well as visit the China-British Business Council, whose launchpad scheme is being used by Locate Jersey.
