There are many ways to slice and dice the data to answer the question in our headline, but here's one particular way of doing it. Take a look at this table, from the U.S. researcher Kimberly Clausing. It demonstrates which countries are working hardest to wage economic warfare on the United States (and, by extension, on other countries,) via the global tax system.
The picture is self-explanatory, and it comes alongside a really useful story, which we linked to yesterday but is worth pointing to again.

I think the flip side of this is just as interesting from the point of view of UK. We are one of the US corporate worlds biggest investment centres but we don’t feature on this list. I’d say this is because US subs in UK shelter their profits with interest on loans to places like Luxemborg. This means they don’t make profits here so pay no tax. So both UK and US end up with no tax and for some reason this suits George Osborne just fine.

Bermuda taxes consumption, not earnings, so how does Kimberley Clausing produce a non-zero tax rate on profits?
Apart from incompetence? In view of his academic record that seems less likely than for some other bloggers.
His article seems to advocate the USA imitating the UK system for taxation of foreign profits.

Which suggests your own research somewhat deficient
And I strongly suspect she has included fees analogous to taxes in the charge, and I suspect these can be modelled
But I stress, that’s a guess, but a fair one if seeking to be reasonable about equivalence
