Is it just me who thinks Labour has said more in the week since Ed Balls has been shadow chancellor than it did in the eight months since the election?
Suddenly Labour spokespeople are popping up with a new confidence.
Of course it could be the open goal the Tories are offering. But it feels like something more than that.
I hope so.

I agree Richard. In retrospect it looks like Ed B couldn’t have come in at a better time, what with the disastrous GDP figures for 2010q4 and Osborne trying to blame the weather. Even by Osborne’s low standards that’s an extraordinarily weak defence. I feel Labour are at last starting to get their act together – well done the two Eds!
I agree, having Balls shadowing Osborne is a turning point. The coalition’s economic policy and NHS reforms could destroy both parties for a generation. Labour will win the next election.
However, until seeing some evidence to the contrary, its hard to conclude that Labour have grasped the nettle on tax avoidance. There has never been a better time for Labour to seize this issue and expose the Tories’ incestuous links to tax havens. If only they’d wake up to it.
And I agree too – never been a better chance for Labour to win back the voters!Again – if THEY wake up!
