Export led growth – that was the first ConDem joke

As the Guardian notes:

Britain's coalition government clocked up a record trade deficit in its first three months in office, according to official figures released today.

Which shatters another Osborne myth — that exports were going to get us out of our mess.

No they won’t.

Open your eyes George — everyone’s in this mess.

Which is why labour did not create it.

And why you can’t claim you can solve it by export led growth.

Spending here in the UK is the only answer.

It’s called the Green New Deal.
