HM Revenue & Customs: Tax Health Plan (THP).
This sounds like free tax advice.
Don't believe it. it's the first scheme aimed at particular occupations to allow them to disclose past tax evasion with reduced penalties. As the blurb says:
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is offering an opportunity for medical professionals with undisclosed tax liabilities to come forward and settle their affairs.
Dentists are proverbially crooked.
But doctors have opportunities too: lots of additional cash fees such as passport forms are easy to pocket. And moonlighting in the private sector is common.
But this is only the start. The big ones will be for lawyers, and accountants.
But that will only happen when HMRC have already established who have the clients that have already come forward. And the penalty will be reduced to a long holiday in one of HM's Prisons.

I regard my dentist with a great deal of respect, a trusted professional.
It looks like you have some complex and rather painful root-canal work due at your next dental checkup Richard.
It’s the Offshore Facility Mark II. I understand that HMRC have already issued formal notices to the principal medical insurers to get the necessary information regarding practice awards etc. To use a well used cliche – it will be like “taking candy from a baby”.
I don’t think that there will many dentists targeted in this initiative. For Mr Murphy’s sake, I hope not or he might be getting his root canal treatment without an injection!
