Staggering that Carter Ruck could have ever got an order suggesting reporting parliament was a contempt of court.
Time for parliament to act, I think.

Are you sure they got an order re the reporting of parliment?
Didn’t they have a general gaging order, and suggested to the Guardian that it covered the Parliamentary question.
Under pressure from the Guardian they backed down.
I don’t think the courts (outside of threats from both sides) have been used today.
The suggestion made to the Guardian was that to report parliament would be a contempt of Court
The Guardian planned to challenge that – in Court
Carter Ruck backed down before getting to Court
Correct.
So, they didn’t get an order, and there is nothing for parliament to act on then.
As is so common here, your poverty of thinking is quite amazing
Of course there is action needed:
a) It was not clear whether the order applied or not – it still is not – it has not been tested. But the suggestion now exists, which emans action is needed
b) This is a tiny part of the overall abuse of Justice Eady
But you’re satisfied with your pedantry. Wait till you’re sued.

One of the problems with this sort of quasi-legal activity is that it creates a climate of fear which encourages self-censorship. There is now a view out there that possibly reporting on parliamentary activity may be contempt of court where an injunction exists. The lawyers for newspapers will have to bear this possibility in mind. Possibly things may not be reported “just to be on the safe side”. This needs to be clarified to ensure press freedom is not undermined.
