What will you be discussing?
Let’s hit the “well off”, I hear you say. I consider myself well off. The reason I am well off is because I haven’t spent money I didn’t have over the past 25 years and I have always worked hard. At the moment the government takes about £25K pa in tax out of my earnings and, apparently, you, and they, think they should take even more so that the ever increasing number of feckless and workshy can continue to enjoy lifestyles that many proud, hard working people would like to become accustomed to. The thing is, Mr Murphy, I have had enough of being exploited. The fact is, I have worked out that I can live quite comfortably on £12K pa. I have decided to retire next year at 58. The government will be about £24K pa worse off as a result. Thank goodness we haven’t yet reached the point where I can be forced to go to work yet
but I’m sure New Labour are working on it. There is a saying “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you”. This government has been biting my hands for long enough. I have no fingers left. They are now about to start on my feet. Not if I can help it. I am not on my own either.
