I think this video by John Sentamu is a powerful justification for the engagement of churches, charities and civil society in politics. And it provides a powerful commentary on the need for equality. So I think it worth sharing:
I work with political parties - I will advise any that are not racist that want to talk to me - and am not a member of a political party.
But that is different from being apolitical. We have a duty to be political because that is the process of asking questions abut the way the world we live in as managed. And that we must do.

On the broader point, and this may be the genesis of a blog series, given your leadership in civil society, what would be your thumbnail economic advice to the five big parties (Labour, Conservatives, Lib-Dems, Greens and UKIP) contending next May?
