The new UK - Switzerland tax deal is dire.
It lets tax evaders off the hook.
It permits and even seeks to to turn a blind eye to continued tax evasion through Swiss banks.
It offers lower tax rates to tax evaders than we have in the UK.
It explicitly supports banking secrecy.
Quite bizarrely it gives Swiss banks the right to assess and collect UK tax without any supervision as to whether they are doing so properly.
And it will bring in almost no money.
The Tories will push it through here - as they're big friends of tax evasion.
But now there's a new line to the story - it looks likely that 117 of the 200 members of the Swiss parliament might oppose it.
This profoundly offensive deal is not done yet.

What we’re up against, which is the rule of an Establishment centuries old and utterly malevolent, spread around the world from here. Here it’s at its strongest anywhere. That’s why The City is the most lawless environment in the financial universe. They can get away with that here. That’s here though. Other places, the Establishment presence is not so strong. That’s why our best hopes for a fair deal are dependent upon other countries, from which the Establishment forces are removed by distance, rejecting its diminished authority and throwing off the shackles. We hopefully here see an example of this in Switzerland. Let’s hope we see more from other countries and quickly too; people are already starving here in some numbers. It won’t be long before they’ll be dying here in some numbers too.
