This seems all part of what’s happening in US – the drive for ‘small government’ ot ineffective government coupled with privatisation. All systems are evolving for the benefit of the 1%.
Interesting read – Thomas Frank – ‘The Wrecking Crew’ about the American right and the lust for power – ie the rich and corporations get richer and the poor get screwed!
Subtle distinction between Tax “evasion” and Tax “avoidance” ….
In the case of the latter the ‘avoidance’ by corporate business and industry finding ways around the law. The ‘infamous creative accounting methodology” by cooking the books accepted and blindly worshipped by Tories as a legitimate action.
Has someone not shot themselves in both feet?????
Seems to me they are both the same, the intention is “not to pay the tax required by law”.
In my book that is a crime…. but then I am stupid.
