Murdoch arrests

Posted on

The Guardian has reported:

The former news editor and current chief reporter from the - News of the World are in -police custody after being arrested, following allegations ofphone hacking.

Ian Edmondson and Neville Thurlbeck had voluntarily presented themselves at different London police stations this morning and were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to tap into or hack mobile communications. It is expected their homes will be searched by officers at midday.

I'm under no illusion that this crime took place only at Murdoch papers.

But the News of the World seems to have built a reporting empire based on criminal activity.

And yet Murdoch has been allowed to buy BSkyB.

That's staggering. And shows the corruption at the heart of the Conservatives. No government dedicated to the rule of law would have allowed him to extend his' empire.
