I rarely put up a pole that receives an outcome like this, as yesterday's on what I should now be focusing upon did:

I think those who want me to focus on a new economic agenda here have definitely carried the day, and my own opinion aligns with that.
There will still be commentary on current affairs, but I will be spending my time thinking about solutions and not analysing how we got here, in the main.
We will be asking the same question on YouTube tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if there is a different answer.

Great idea. Perhaps we (by which I mean all who subscribe to your blogs etc) should all focus as well on how we can help promote that new economic agenda and anticipate the attack lines that the now cornered neoliberals will resort to. An example of this can be seen in the response of those who promoted Brexit now that the damage caused is becoming clearer by the day.
Thanks. Great idea
“There will still be commentary on current affairs”
Your commentary on current affairs Britt & Yank) is always enlighten and VERY entertaining.
Please make more than a little room for commentary on current affairs as your thoughts on the Prime Ministers and the Orange POTUS is much better than that of The Guardian (with the exception of John Crace) or The Independent.
Flattery can work….
“Up a pole”?
Talking about solutions to problems that face the economy, have you read the book by the economist Mariana Mazzucato, The Common Good Economy. She has been presenting her ideas on the media and social media recently. I believe she has a lot of good ideas which you would agree with. She promotes the idea that instead of chasing short team goals such as growth resources should be used for the common good to solve everyday problems, with private and public sector working together for the public good. As she puts it, “a common good framework for the economy is about aligning goals, incentivising collaboration, fostering collective intelligence, and ensuring that all participants share knowledge, risks and rewards”. It requires the state to be involved in major innovations like the Apollo missions to the moon. The aim is to fix the broken system and deal with inequality and climate breakdown. I would be interested in your views on it.
I have not yet had a chance to read it. Sorry….I have been distracted.
