I woke late this morning. I can't recall the last time I woke after 8.00. Jacqueline decided I needed to sleep and let me lie in. I think she was probably right.
What is more, nothing I worked on yesterday is ready for publication as yet.
And, if I am honest, I feel the need for coffee and a walk, despite the weather, this morning. It's been a busy week, and I suspect ideas will flow once those two things are done. But right now, even though I know there are a few comments awaiting moderation that need to be thought through before publication, and other issues to address, I am taking a little morning time off. I trust you will excuse me.

As the saying goes listen to your body. On another note it is too much we ask (due to the poor state of the media) of you as a person to cover the news. Even though we use multiple sources these can range from individuals to larger groups. The times maybe hard, but it is still history repeating itself.
You should take as many breaks as you want. Your normal output is prodigious and burnout is a real risk.
No problem, Richard. Take more time off if you feel you need it.
Thanks for the Reeves critique. It is what I said at the time, and more of course. Your analysis is always worth reading. What you didn’t mention is that Starmer is partly responsible for this, as he appointed her. He needs to go, too.
Richard, you don’t need to apologise. For everything there is a season -or at least a time. It is time to rest and refresh.
You will be better for it.
