In the Global Tax 50 for the ‘n’th year

Posted on

I have just noticed that I was named as being amongst the 50 most influential people in global tax in 2022 by International Tax Review in December. As they said:

The full listing is available from the link.

I am not sure for how many years I have been on this list - but think it may be fourteen now, almost without a break. The only other person to enjoy that run is Pascal St Amans, the now-retired head of tax at the OECD. The age of the photo shows how long I have been around their list - I reckon it was taken in about 2010, and maybe earlier.

Amongst those others on the list, I am pleased to see my old friend Prem Sikka and two organisations I co-founded, the Tax Justice Network and the Fair Tax Mark, even if both have gone rather off the rails in recent years, largely because both are now run. by people who know very little about tax, which really does not help when campaigning on this issue.
