I have new work on the tax gap to finish in draft and then a few days off with my sons to share. If there are fewer blogs and slow moderation on those that I post, please accept my apologies in advance. Sometimes batteries need recharging. I expect to be back in full action in the middle of next week.

One of my counselling clients, recently, I diagnosed as ‘depleted battery’ –it’s amps in and amps out. They needed to recharge. All you can do not sabotage the the re-charging.
People often forget it’s love your neighbour AS YOURSELF. We are taught to care for ourselves not just others. A lot of the people I see have forgotten that

Have a splendid break Richard. Having spent quite a lot of time enjoying Heritage Railways, it’s my experience that steam trains have an ‘uplifting’ effect. In any event, regularly taking time out is absolutely essential especially for someone such as yourself who is constantly ‘on the go’ both physically and mentally. We’ll be here on the platform when you return!

I admire your energy. Without you and Bill Mitchell I would still be a fully paid up member of the ‘how are you going to pay for It?’ brigade. I’ll know I’m not in the minority when the MSM starts to talk some sense. Could be a long wait. Enjoy your break doing something different.

As I know from personal experience, it’s all too easy to “soldier on” only for perseverance to be repaid with ongoing poor health. Think of yourself, and your family, more often. There are loads of us who will miss you when you’re taking time out and delighted when you return. Have a great break but make it as long as you need.

All our married life I had been hearing about the Toy Train to Darjeeling that my wife took to go to school in the 50’s. When we retired some years ago, the first thing we did was bought a ticket for India. And of course we had to make the trip. I can thoroughly recommend it. Locomotives built in 1890’s are still being run by Indian Railways. Let’s not go into the corruption of the British Empire that dictated that these locomotives had to be made in Scotland when Indian industry, at the time, was perfectly capable of building them.
Just enjoy them, running on the the first UN world heritage railway. Enjoy this clip. I just hope my computer skills allow this to be seen.

My son is a massive fan of the Darjeeling B class – but it doesn’t quite do it for me.
Even the Duracell Bunny needs a new battery now and again. Don’t pressure yourself. Get back into the game only when you feel ready to–not when you think you should. Otherwise you’re flirting with burnout, which would be a real shame.
I won’t take the risk….
