Someone put it to me recently that writing several blogs before breakfast on most days of the week was not normal behaviour, but that's what I do. They asked me why. My response was simple. By writing these blogs I know I have done something that day to try to change the world into the place I'd like it to be. Whatever else then happens I know I have at least done that. And I can't think of anything much more important to try to achieve.

There is nothing more important! It is something we should be all engaged in and a stance that should be promoted in our education system rather than hammering people to fit in with the way things are. Your behaviour is entirely healthy, Richard!
I would go as far to say that working for social justice and changing our absurd and self-harming economic system is the only thing that can give us real purpose and meaning. I remember the economist Richard Wolf talking about how people really come alive when they are fighting for rights (in relation to raising the minimum wage in Seattle). The neo-liberals want a zombie population (we’ve partly got it!); living for a purpose (not debt slavery)is the answer.
Because you blog before breakfast, I get to read your blog while I’m having mine! Keep it up.
Result!
I totally agree. I read the blog on my way to work so always hope there’s a posting to get me thinking. Keep it up Richard!
