Vince Cable stokes the debate on a separate tax rate for Northern Ireland

Posted on

Vince Cable discussed a 12.5% corporation tax rate for Northern ireland on the Stephen Nolan show this morning. Listen here.

He made two claims. The first was that the 12.5% tax rate in Ireland led to its bankruptcy.

And he said variable tax rates could lead to the unravelling of the UK.

Both entirely fair points.

This is an issue with which I have been much engaged.
