Donald Trump put out this image on his Truth Social media account earlier today. It is quite extraordinary. I don't presume that Donald Trump created this image. I doubt if he has the ability with AI to do so. But he did let someone create it, and he did use it. The message is quite extraordinary.
Where is Trump putting himself? He's putting himself in the position of God. That is an image where he is meant to be Jesus Christ, and I believe that is deeply dangerous.
It's worse than that. This is delusional. It's a clear indication that Trump is insane. If he thinks he has that role, then quite clearly, he has lost all touch with reality.
Should the USA be governed by a man who has lost touch with reality?
Should it be governed by a man who thinks he's God?
Should it be governed by a man who is setting out to alienate many of Christian faith and all of those of other faiths, let alone those of no faiths at all, to whom he is accountable in the US electorate, but also around the world, who will be offended by the fact that the man who heads the largest superpower in the world is claiming that he is akin to God?
I am deeply worried by this. I think it is time for the people of the USA to stand up and say, ‘No Kings', as they did when Donald Trump seemed to assume that role, but now they should be saying, ‘No false idols either'.
Donald Trump is setting himself up as a false idol. A man who wants to assume absolute power and presume that it is his by right. That is a false God that he is creating, and it is down to his cabinet to now get rid of him on the basis that he has lost touch with reality. If not, heaven knows where he takes the USA next, and where he drags us in its wake.

He meets the threshold to be sanctioned and detained under the UK Mental Health Act. He would be prohibited by law from attesting to any legal document here, whereas in USA, he can press a button and destroy millions of lives. Crikey Moses, WTF.
Hopefully for others, Trump has gone too far this time. Fingers crossed.
Its is one thing to have people suspect you of having a God complex but it is another to post, or allow to be posted, an image on the internet that puts the issue beyond any dispute.
We must all be worried. However, those that have assisted Trump, explicitly or implicitly whether directly or indirectly will be judged harshly by history (assuming the human race survives!).
Does anyone know the source / creator of this image? I believe that Trump sees it as amusing but is too thick to realise that he is the butt of a joke.

It seems to have originated (in a slightly different form) on 4th Feb on the X account of Nick Adams.

However, speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump accused the media of creating a firestorm as he cited the nurse in the picture as part of his wild explanation.
“I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor – it had to do with Red Cross, there’s a Red Cross worker there, which we support.
“Only the fake news could come up with that one (the depiction of Jesus). I just heard about it, and said: ‘how did they come up with that?’”
Completely mad.
If he believed it showed him as a doctor then his pattern recognition missed the praying person, the light in the hand, the spirits above, the robes, etc as suggesting something else. That means he either had the comprehension of a 5 year old, or he was outright lying. Or both (never rule that out).
This should be cause for demanding a publicly monitored administration of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. If he can still ‘ace it’, maybe he’s just a liar rather than suffering from deep dementia. Bit there are no good answers here, and the 25th Amendment should be beckoning.
What a faith testing predicament for Vice President Vance who as just announced a new memoir titled Communion: My Way Back to Faith, centred on his conversion to Catholicism.
According to the publisher, the book “reveals how his faith guides his work in public life, and how it informs his vision for the future”.
The Maga base my simply view this as another episode in the day drama Trump orchrestrates. They know it’s fake, he knows it’s fake and the show has played so long no one knows what’s truth and what lies, what’s politics and what’s entertainment. Get drawn to far in and it’s enough to lose your mind.
I worked in a psychiatric hospital for years. Trump certainly fits the criteria of someone who is psychologically delusional…possibly a danger to himself, as well as the public….He would be sectioned under the Mental Health Act and remain there under observation and undergo a lot of tests…!! I am surprised he is not already locked up in a psychiatric wing…he may well be schizophrenic a mental disorder affecting how a person thinks, feels and behave…they can react in most unusal ways and lose touch with reality…delusional in other words.. They often have disorganised thinking!!! If I were his family, I would be very worried because he could become extremely dangerous!!! Why hasn’t anyone questioned this before now…surely the Republicans are not going to let him continue in office?
Badder and madder, but he’s providing an interesting test for the application of the Constitution and the tolerance of Republicans and others in his government. Surely, as his behaviour becomes more extreme, at some point he will become a clear liability to Republicans seeking re-election. Those in government with proximity to Trump, such as Vance and Rubio, will have ambitions which might be damaged moving against and not moving against their master. How far does Trump need to go before he is restrained?
Never interrupt your enemy when he’s screwing up.
I doubt he thinks he’s literally god, it is propaganda and the imagery in it echoes US white evangical thinking though this time he’s gone even too far for, at least some of, them.
This image would finish most politicians but Trump has proved to be suprisingly fireproof.
That kind of imagery is not quite as unusual as one might think though usually its a bit tongue in cheek and not done by politicians about themselves.

Tangerine Palpatine clearly thought it was funny (just like posting a video of a woman being killed hours after Melania’s bizarre “I’m innocent” press conference) but he’s too think and mentally gone to understand the consequences.
I recently read The Killer Across The Table by John Douglas and one of the chapters focuses on a hospital orderly who killed 80+ people over a 17 year period (America’s Shipman). He saw himself as an ‘Angel of Death’ and killed to help people.
His psychological profile was characterized by antisocial personality disorder, sexual sadism, and a desire to play God, killing dozens of patients to achieve a sense of control and power. He was a charming yet manipulative, calculating murderer who claimed to perform “mercy killings”.
His name is Donald Harvey and, honestly, as you read the psychological analysis of this extreme serial killer you can easily substitute Trump for Harvey.
It’s scary. One had the power to smother helpless victims with pillows while the other controls the largest military complex ever assembled. But they’re both the same man.

Does the US want to become an illiberal theocracy, like Iran? JD Vance has accused Iran of economic terrorism, and then said that two can play at that game. So now the US openly admits that it is engaged in economic terrorism.
Neither the US nor Iran is a party to the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and the Strait of Hormuz at its narrowest is about 24 miles wide, half controlled by Iran and half by Oman and then the UAE. It seems to me that Iran is entirely within its rights to control shipping out to at least 12 miles, and the international shipping lanes are on the Oman side of the border. But it is not at all clear what authority Iran has to stop shipping outside its waters, or the US has to impose a blockade, apart from “might makes right”.
This picture depicts the exact opposite of what Trump has been actually doing. He is responsible for the deaths of many civilians and has threatened to send Iran back to the stone age. He is a major threat to world security.
The issue is not so much Trump himself – there are many mentally ill people in the world in need of help – but, as with the authoritarian deceitful genocide-complicit Starmer, it is those powerful and very wicked people in the shadows who cynically, knowingly, culpably, complicitly self-interestedly manipulate them into positions of power or aid and abet their crimes, who are the real crooks.
They will still be in place when their puppets have fallen.
Trump has access to the “nuclear football”, can sign executive orders and issue presidential pardons while protected by a publicly funded Secret Service.
Francesca Albanese isn’t allowed a credit/debit card because of US sanctions against her, for calling out genocide.
Palestinian and Lebanese civilians who have harmed no one, aren’t even allowed a life.
It wasn’t unusual for kings to assume devine provanance that their rule was the will of god and I know a lot of his religious base feel this about him.
It wasn’t unusual for such kings to have spats with the pope as well.
It’s not that far removed from what we’ve heard and seen so far, it’s just very bold and explicit.
His greatest appeal is to the christian fundamentalist after all… and to function he NEEDS adoration
One step closer to Amendment XXV being invoked?
