I gather real estate in Dubai is going cheap today.
Netanyahu, Trump and Starmer really should think through the consequences of their actions.
But look at the upside: another tax haven bites the dust.

A prolonged period of uncertainty in the Gulf may do us no harm at all………………
The closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the resulting restriction on the oil flow the global economy so depends on could be enough to burst the Everything Bubble and cause a collapse far bigger than the 2008 GFC.
There are some who believe this is being done deliberately to allow the richest to buy up stocks when they are cheap, just like J Paul Getty did in 1930.
And here’s another fascinating fact about the possible consequences of Operation Epstein Fury:
Not only have Iran qualified for the FIFA World Cup – one of the hosts of which is the USA – but so have Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Do you think that Mr Infantino might be regretting his decision to create a FIFA Peace Prize and award it to Trump?
Or, for that matter, that Ms Machado might be regretting her decision to ‘give’ her Nobel Peace Prize to him?
Timothy, you’re surely not suggesting that Trump’s actions are the time honoured distraction technique employed by leaders who are in trouble at home!?
Who would have thought that Donaldo would try to distract attention from the Epstein scandal, inflation, shootings by ICE etc in the run up to midterm elections?
Still, if it harms the ghastly place that Dubai is, maybe it’s not such a bad thing after all. And if it puts the heebie geebies up some of Dubai’s awful immigrants, sorry, “ex Pats”, from the UK like Isabel Oakshott and Charlie Mullins, even better.
All I can think of concerning Iran is what next?
I am haunted by Iraq, where there was no post aggression plan at all.
A wholly appropriate concern.
What is next? Terrible outcomes for Iran, for sure. And let’s be clear, what they have is dire. But bombs from afar never brought better outcomes, and no one will go in by land.
The home of Mr and Mrs Tice I believe. They moved as a result of the VAT/Private school fee change!
Would be nice to see someone on the BBC ask him what he thinks of Trump’s Gulf strategy next time he’s in one of his regular interviews.
Apparently, about 250,000 Brits live in Dubai, including a few from Reform.
Nigel goes there to grift donations for the party.

According to Nige, the Brits go there for the lifestyle, low crime and low taxes. Just a pity about those missiles. Still, I suppose you can’t have everything.
The lifestyle and low tax is paid for by cheap immigrant, near slave labour, and this country would have lower crime if we paid people properly, looked after the population, and got rid of the rentier economy.
Agreed

The same commentator also points out of course that Oman has not been targeted as it has no US bases
It has been targeted now.
