What's the problem with British politics? The public seems to know, based on the opinion polling reflected in this Tweet:
What is the answer? This was polling on YouTube on our video, yesterday:

People want to be put back in charge.
So why don't politicians want that? Could it be they like dipping their snouts into the trough of privilege?
The trouble is, once you have, you behave like a pig, and as a wise person once told me, don't argue with a pig. You'll get very dirty, and the pig will enjoy it.
So, why do I keep engaging with the failings of politicians? I guess someone's got to get muddy....

We had the chance to move away from the undemocratic FPTP in 2011 through the AV referendum – not the ideal step but a small improvement. What happened? As a precursor to what would happen in the EU referendum 5 years later, the advocates for a bit of progress were utterly hopeless (I remember one poorly pitched campaign video from the pro AV side basically smearing all politicians as layabouts under FPTP), which gifted the result to the forces of reaction.
And who owns the pigs…. who are the pig farmers, who fill their troughs and expect their piggies to do as they are told? The polls you show indicate that many voters know the answer. We don’t have the money to buy pigs. We just have votes. We need a proportional representation system, but we also need an end to trough-filling and snout-greasing.
Agreed
I’m afraid that it may come to pass that none of us has a choice but to get our hands dirty somehow. There is such a lot at stake.
