I have just realised I have won this for the fifth year in a row:
The award ranks the accountants with the most influence on Twitter each year. I have won every year since 2019.

Immense Congratulations Richard.
Thanks
I am not sure why, but I enjoy getting this one.
Mind you, I think it time someone else got a look in.
Seconded.
Thanks
Well deserved 🙂
Thanks
Well deserved
Well done Richard but forgive me for asking, is there much competition from the world of accountants?!
Anyway, your blog and its contributors are about so much more which is why we value it so much. Perhaps I’m a touch reassured that it suggests that lots of those conservative accountants are reading it too.
Dnn Neidle was #2. He is competition.
But I admit, it fades off thereafter.
Will have a look at Dans stuff
Tax justice for the wealthy
As if they need it…
Congratulations. Well deserved. You’ve earned this recognition.
I’d love to read Dan but he’s on X and I won’t go there. On old Twitter posts he does mention the way in which HMRC pursues ordinary people for tax.
So, I’m after an informed opinion here – Dan – friend or foe?
Good, but still very biased to wealth. Read here https://www.taxpolicy.org.uk/
Deserved I think. Though to be honest I know nothing of the other candidates.
Your dedication and determination are inspirational. No. Not inspirational, that would imply I was motivated to emulate which I can’t. Awe inspiring though.
Congratulations.
Thanks
I’m a retired academic (not in economics) — I’ve been following you as an education. And thank you very much for this.
Congratulations!!
Congratulations!!
But my expression isn’t like the man with the the phone: more like “Well, of course, naturally…”
Congratulations, Richard. I am so pleased to see this award for your work. As someone said yesterday, your dedication and determination are awe-inspiring, and I have learned so much about finance, politics and economics from you and this community. A huge thank you.
Thanks
Congratulations Richard. The analysis of the economy from the perspective of the accountant – even just the basics , that payments from one entity/account have got to be received somewhere else – provides such powerful tools for analysis and valuable insights and explanations as to how the economy works.
I think I had been trying to think somewhat along these lines without realising what I was looking for.
Wel done again.
Thanks
Well deserved indeed!
Lke others, I read your blog as an education…as well as to give me hope in this otherwise desolate political (Westminster) landscape of ignorance and stupidity.
Thank you!
Thanks
You float like a butterfly, sting like bee 🙂 Carry on, Murphy.
Thank you.
Right oh, sir
I am standing at ease
I am so, so pleased!

Thanks
Very well deserved!
