I am not feeling anything like 100% this morning.
I suspect this is a reaction to having had two vaccinations on Monday.
My wife (a retired GP) seems to think otherwise.
Either way, I have limited energy and blogging might be sparse today.
My apologies.
Thanks for reading this post.

You do more than enough! Rest is certainly deserved and needed.
It must require a great deal of energy to keep going amidst all this madness!
It has been pointed out to me that I have had six days this year when I have not posted. Three were in January and two in February, when I finally got over long Covid. There was another Sunday in April.
My wife has a theory that this might be why I am complaining of tiredness. She may have a point.
“May’?
Thou art forgivineth.
Or something like that.
The first order of business, as it were, is to take care of yourself. We can wait. Your health is more important. Best wishes for your rapid recovery.
Larry is correct. You need to take care of yourself first and foremost.
Hope you feel better soon.
Hope you are feeling better soon, Richard.
I only feel tired, but that’s because I didn’t get much sleep last night, I think.
It’s really stupid having both flu and covid vaccinations on the same day if you can’t sleep on your back, and I can’t.
I won’t do it next year. A week in between, I think. I know the chemist in the village is giving flu vaccinations from now, so why didn’t I wait?
A lesson to others on here?
Yes
Split them.
It seemed like a good idea.
It wasn’t
I’m not contesting your wife’s reading of your current condition, but my wife and I have had the double – winter flu and Covid booster in 2021 and 2022 and on both occasions both of us were out of action for c36 hours afterwards. In my wife’s case, it hit her about 24-30 hours after the injections while my symptoms began 2 days afterwards. Our solution was rest as naps came on with little or no warning and when the all-clear sounded after 36 hours we were 100% back to normal. Enjoy!
Let me go and take a snooze then…. 🙂
Hi Richard, just chill out for a bit. The writing can wait. All the best, Mel
Thanks
I think it is going to have to.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Take it easy !
It looks like it was the vaccines.
I feel better this morning.
I will do them one at a time in the future.
Glad to hear you are feeling better Richard.
This time last year the French authorities were also encouraging people to have the flu & Covid vaccinations together. But when I tried to do that the local doctors and pharmacies were firmly against it, saying I should have them 2 weeks apart, which I duly did with no problems.
Wise….
Irrrespective of jabs etc…..look at your workload & your work/life balance…the “life” bit needs addressing? – take nowt for granted…reduce your blog output to say 3 or 4 times per week concentrated on getting your ideas into the political domain, re-emphasis/update on the Green New Deal & Joy of Tax etc…ideas (terrible name for such an excellent work!) & weekends off! Readers & followers (including me) will no doubt be somewhat disappointed, but your continued health & well-being is all-important. The best & non-sycophantic compliment I can provide is that your views actually matter. Some output is better than none. This is not a complaint – just take heed & take stock….
I will muse on this
I went for the flu vaccination as an over 65yr old and was offered a pneumonia vac as well so I have two slightly sore arms! But hopefully will be well protected.
Dear Richard
Sending best wishes to you, I hope you are back to 100% veryoon. I have the perfect medicine to aid your recovery, just sit quietly, wee drink on hand and spend the next four days watching the Ryder Cup. Perfect xx
Not my thing
Watching birds might be
Sorry to hear this news; hopefully you will bounce back soon. Glad that you are getting vaccinated and still believe in the validity of modern medical advances. Your ex-GP wife is probably wrong to ‘doubt’ the catalyst to your symptoms! In fact, in your age group feeling a little off colour is still a useful sign that the vaccine is working and precipitating an adequate host response.
We now understand that the very elderly sometimes do not react much to vaccination. A subset of these very old folk are ‘non-responders’ in that their immune systems are awakened but the vaccines only produce a transient, relatively short-lived protection. This is probably what Pfizer and co. wanted as it guarantees them recurrent frequent vaccinations (bi-annual) which governments are essentially forced to pay for..!
Mark, where did you get that information from?
If it’s true that the very elderly do not respond, why is it that the spring boosters were only given to those over 75?
Surely they should have been given to those 65-75?
And why, this time, are those in care homes considered first in line?
That sounds like justification for Johnson’s ‘let the bodies pile high’ line.
I think your anti-Pfizer rant is unjustified, too. That sounds like something anti-vaxxers would say.
Two oldish peeps here. One zonked out for 4 days the other feeling off. Get well soon and rest!
