Jonathan Pie is at it again, hitting the target rather well. The usual warnings about his language apply:

absolutely spot on, briallant! (thanks Richard for putting that on)
Meanwhile The Telegraph says: “Labour won’t revoke new oil and gas licences – despite opposing them. Shadow minister Thangam Debbonaire’s comments follow Rishi Sunak’s decision to grant hundreds of new North Sea drilling permits.”
Heard this in a news interview too, so maybe this newspaper has its facts right for once. Labour getting it wrong again, appealing to the ‘Brexity ban the boats & burn the planet’ crowd.
Agreed
Nothing to disagree with there at all including the bad language.
Only small quibble: He did say jet stream — I think he meant gulf stream. I should get out more …….
Did one honestly expect anything else from the vile-tories? Lies and mateism. The only open question for the gurning-Sunak is BP, Shell or some other oil&gas mafiosi, after he loses the election.
I am compiling lists of those that have materially accelerated the climate disaster. What they did, what they said.
I hope, at some point in the future, those responsible will be brought to trial for crimes against humanity.
They knew/know what they are doing, at some point in the future they need to held accountable for their actions.
Message to Sunak: in a court of law, the pathetic lies you spout will not offer any sort of defense.
Piece of chihuahua dog sh*t. Best description yet!

I hope they drained his pool as well.
I just had a horrible thought that labour and the tories might make a pact and form a government together after the next election.
I very much doubt it.
Unless, that is, that was then only way they copilot stop Scotland leaving the Union.
Led By Donkeys with added vitriol. Brilliant.
Every week that passes exposes Sunak for what he really is.
On the bright side. I optimistically think that most of the U.K. population can see through him as well.
Brilliant and so awfully true
Sunak was furious when Martin Geissler asked him if he travelled to Scotland to make the oil announcement by private jet. The real point was Sunak only made the trip for a Photo Op and interviews (presumably a hard-hat and and High Viz jacket permanently accompanies the PM, in even closer attendance than nuclear codes on the plane); he could have done It all for next to nothing, without leaving Downing Street; but politics now is all glove-puppetry and extravagant PR stunts at your expense. Listen to the interview; Sunak wanders off on a tangent to argue furiously and totally irrelevantly about holidays. Presumably that was because he was going off to California to enjoy an expensive family holiday, with a visit to Disneyland; to remind us how firmly his feet are on the ground; and without anybody reflecting on extravagantly pointless private plane journeys to Scotland; or that someone may contrast his luxurious holiday arrangements with the real struggles he, his government, and his central Banker are inflicting on ordinary British people, fast approaching their wits end.
For people who are suffering real hardship, being lectured by Rishi Sunak, of all people in the world, about what they need to do in their own best interests, and the hardship they must suffer; when we all know Sunak’s first priority is to his Government and the next election; so his very first priority is to rearrange the facts to prove that, no matter the outcome, his Government look like a success; must be very, very hard to swallow.
Inflation is falling because last year’s rise is falling out the figures (next winter is yet to happen, and oil prices are edging higher) and the BoE and sunk are already taking credit for an outcome on inflation that is largely unrelated to the policy they are promoting. The causal relationship they claim is simply false. I invite them to prove it; correlations will not do.
The Sunak-Geissler interview was on BBC Radio Scotland GMS.
When I type “Sunak” in my shiny new laptop, it corrects the word to “sunk”. It made that correction every time I wrote his name. My laptop must be infused with the wonders of AI, or something similar; it is clearly both prescient and invested with real insight.
🙂
I listened to that interview which must have been on R4. The Newsagents podcasts used it as an example as well. Confirmed any thoughts one might have had about Sunak’s arrogance, sense of entitlement, and disdain for everyone else. He has demonstrated it often enough with his attempts to behave like the ‘common man’ which just confirm who and what he is. As the Newsagents podcast team concluded, he is a right wing as any Tory politician of the last 30 years. He did not need Braverman to bring the Right of his party on board – she is just a natural fit with his beliefs.
As for Hunt, he will do and say whatever he thinks will fit with current Tory thinking of the time, be it with Cameron or Sunak. Good to see Krishnan Guru Murthy calling him out the other night on his two faced behaviour over climate change. Supporting Sunak’s drill baby drill policies whilst turning up and pretending to ‘support’ local campaigners against drilling in his constituency.
I agree re Sunak
I appreciate the Newsagents, but Lewis Goodall is best for me.
BBC Radio Scotland GMS, I assure anyone looking for it. I think on Monday.
I preume you have all seen the photos of Sunak pretending to pour a pint.
He ought to be in his own constituency and concerned about what is happening there.
