“Everything is art, everything is politics.” Ai Weiwei
As a potential non-voter at the next election, even I know this is the truth really.
Thanks.
Amazing article courtesy of George Monbiot
“We’ve had almost 99 years of Tory rule in Totnes. Here’s how we plan to get rid of them:”

Template for others, might even force PR!?
At the very least this might be a good kick up the arse for a failing opposition.
I admit to becoming very weary of politics now. On the one hand is the evidence that the neoliberal model is not working, and possibly never has*, and yet both main parties seem wedded to it. Worse still any attempts to change direction are stamped on by the parties themselves not to mention large swathes of the media.
Being completely honest I would not be surprised if Labour and the Tories tried to find some way to outlaw the approach described by George.
* maybe this is part of the problem, depending on who you are the neoliberal model might work very well.
Do not forget that in the last general election one third of those entitled to did not vote.
This is brilliant – should be a public service announcement!! Or played in every classroom. So many people have no understanding that politics affects every aspect of their lives – I remember trying to explain this to my students ( with moderate learning difficulties) who thought politics was of no concern to them…even as they were having their benefits cut!! no doubt I’d have been disciplined if management had known but they needed to know.
Just a gentle reminder that FPTP is a real hindrance when talking about change – any kind of change. Here in Denmark we were disappointed when the turnout at the last GE only made the mid-eighties. In the UK, the trend for a number of GE’s has been low sixties. Shocking. It seems to me that one third (almost) of the electorate feel disenfranchised. Even the three by-elections last week couldn’t manage a 50% turnout!
This is just sick. Who cares about politics? I do. Everyone who cares should see this and realise that Kid Starver doesn’t care.
