Bursaries for accounting PhDs

My daily email from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales included this little attention grabber this morning:

I don't want to dismiss the significance of anything the Chartered Accountant's Livery Company is doing, but I would just point out that the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales picked up £14.9 million in fines from its members who had done substandard work last year but they're not offering to use that for this purpose of advancing education in accounting.

I might have more to say about this, soon.
