Plans for more organised podcasting and video production are progressing.
I am planning on two approaches right now. The use of audio is planned first. The intention is to call this The Account:
These will come in two varieties. There will be shorts and longer versions.
The shorts will be me as a talking head. The target is five minutes or less. They will tackle a single theme.
The longer ones will involve discussion and explore a theme, which could be an elaboration on a previously issued short version.
Quite separately there may be a ‘Richard Murphy and friends' like ‘Steve Keen and friends'.
The shorts will definitely have transcripts.
All these will appear here but will also feature on podcasting sites and YouTube.
Well, that's the plan. Let's see what happens. My producer and I are meeting again tomorrow. In the meantime, try this:
An embedded version is here:
Let me know which you prefer. The content is the same.

Both worked well for me. Cosmetically the embedded one looks better as it fits on my phone screen, whereas part of the first one hangs off the side of the screen.
Thanks
I preferred the second embedded version. Any chance of getting these transmitted secretly to Keir Starmer’s pillow?
Thanks
Most seem to think that
You sound like a smug pompous snake oil salesman..
Thanks for listening
The second version was much better than the first. I am listening on a desktop.
The first version sounded odd, as if short pauses has been frequently inserted.
The embed version sounds just like your usual video presentations.
Thanks
Second works better on my phone, I love this idea, i can plug myself in and listen at work!!
Using Firefox 112.0.2 (current) the second, embedded version doesn’t work – literally does not respond – for me at all, even with FF Enhanced tracking protection turned off and Ublock Origin and Privacy Badger disabled.
Weird….
All worked fine for me with Firefox (on Mac), but the embedded version headed “An Introduction …” has better (smoother) sound.
Thanks
Th. re is no agreement on this., it seems
BUT I am now trying yet another recording package – Garageband, and that seems the best yet
Prefer the embedded version. It looks and sounds better. Thanks for a great addition to your blog.
Thanks
The embedded one, #2. Which for some reason also sounds less ‘tinny’ than #1 on my mobile and therefore easier on the ear.
Interesting – they were recorded on different software
After reading this, I went back and listened to both versions again. (Earbuds and Tablet). The YouTube version sounded much more natural that the second one.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Opps, I’ve made a mistake here with my answer. Where you show the embedded version, there are actually two, “An Introduction to the Account”, and “Introducing the Account “.
The first sounds tinny, the second just like the YouTube version above.
Thanks
Unfortunately the preferred option takes considerably more time
I am going to have to do more experimentation.
I preferred the embedded version; it flowed better and sounded more natural.
Good idea anyway, whichever version you go with.
The embedded is much easier to do, so is likely
Would be good to stream eventually on YouTube during the podcast. A lot of podcasts do get lost in the noise. Looking forward to it
Let’s see…..
