This is from the front page of the Telegraph this morning:
So there we have someone who very obviously wishes to be prime minister of the UK being endorsed by someone who very obviously wishes to be president of the USA for being three things:
- Pro-racist.
- Anti-minority interests.
- Pro-inequality.
And we have the Telegraph applauding this.
In the 30s, British newspapers applauded anti-semitism and those politicians who promoted it here and abroad.
This is a different time and thankfully most have moved on from anti-semitism.
The papers just attack people for their race, sexual orientation and their relative economic status now.
That's not very different.
In the 60s Bib Dylan said the times, they were a changin'. I think he spoke too soon.

An instance of hope over experience/reality. Sad, really.
Bob Dylan, not Bib Dylan. An unfortunate typo.

Corrected. Thanks
It’s always the Right who invent identity politics and blame it on everyone else, effectively crowding out a justified reaction.
I read this article by Kenan Malik because the title reflected my own scepticism about the concept of ‘white privilege’ – it’s a good read in my view:

Well, in the film ‘Bob Roberts’ didnt he sing ‘The Times They Are a Changing Back’
The Coronation is a performance of the Theatre of the Absurd. Those would who defend it talk of a modern monarchy. This an oxymoron, monarchy is archaic and exists in the UK to
maintain a social order of inequality. Ah the monarchist say, “The Coronation (and other royal celebrations) with its pomp and glory, show to the world what Britain does best”.
This is true but I rather show to the world that we have housing, education, health and economic systems are efficient, just and provide for all.
