Another glossary update

Posted on

The more observant readers will have noted that the glossary was live on this site for a few hours on Saturday whilst testing took place.
A test post of 230 or so entries was made. The good news is that it worked. Not only did the entries themselves work, but the automatic links from the site did too, by and large.
As that implies, there are issues to sort as yet. In particular we need to make the links realise that compound terms like secrecy jurisdiction have a link different to jurisdiction. There is more formatting required as well. But I am pleased with progress. I think the glossary will considerably increase the usefulness of this site.
Separately, there is the issue of how to publish this data. When I imagined it as a PDF I asked for volunteer editors. I am now more inclined to release less contentious items in a batch to get the ball rolling but to issue more contentious issues as separate blogs as I have already done with a couple and that way let these issue be more thoroughly considered before finalisation. The gold standard may be the next one to get this treatment.
As usual, comments would be appreciated.
Meanwhile, the writing will continue although a visit to Scotland this week will be a bit of a distraction. However, there will be many hours on trains, so maybe not so much of a distraction as I think at present. I will have an update on this visit soon, I hope.
