I feel that you are right.
They want a recession in order to create a crises which will then justify making more draconian changes.
This is pure disaster capitalism at work – to destroy and make something new in their own image.
It’s all they know.
It might be possible they have a cunning plan of a Baldrick nature.
I think it is also possible they lurch from one decision to another hoping it will work out and reacting when it doesn’t.
Was it not Gordon Brown who handed over responsibility to Bank of England to keep inflation under control but only armed with weapon of raising or lowering interest rates?
That went well didn’t it?
It is not true it has only one weapon
It has three
Interest rates, QE, and QT (quantitative tightening or reversing QE)
It is choosing to use the two that make things worse right now but not the one needed, which is QE
