If this is David Attenborough's swan song (and I hope it isn't) the challenge he lays down and the response he demands would have made all his efforts worthwhile.
The question now is, will they listen?

Inspiring, beautiful logic. Will they listen (do I insert a question mark here?)
COPping 40 winks?
“Number 10 insisted the Prime Minister was not asleep in public” is never a sentence you want to have to type.
And it’s particularly unfortunate when the future of the entire planet could ride on what happens in Glasgow this week, with the eyes of the world are on the UK, for the PM to look like he’s resting his.
But even if those pesky shutterbugs caught the Boris Johnson in an unfortunate moment of repose, he was still sitting just inches away from 95-year-old national treasure Sir David Attenborough without a mask on.

Magnificant speech from Sir David. If only our mostly awful politicians and mostly awful media was up to responding in the right way. I suppose we can hope, although given how the greed and stupidity of wealthy fossil fuel climate change denialists has managed to delay meaningful action on the climate emergency through dirty tricks like “Climategate” I’m not very optimistic.
If the applause that Attenborough got is matched by action then yes, things are looking up. The Queen and Charles didn’t do too badly either. There still needs to be tremendous pressure put on the leaders and nations if this COP doesn’t end in a damp squib like the Kyoto, Copenhagen, and Paris ones before.
Fabulous speech by Sir David, aided by inserts from many. As always, he brings voices and views together like the best of conductors – to make a wonderful, finished piece that inspires our hopes as much as it answers our intellects and soothes our emotions.
