Smallville! I’d know Ma and Pa Kent’s old place anywhere ๐

I can tell you exactly where it was. Just outside Wallington, near Baldock, in Hertfordshire. I have bicycled through the area many times. More! George Orwell lived there for a while in the war. 2 Kitts Lane, I believe.
I remember a trip to the Ouse Washes back in the hot summer of 1976. Somewhere between Spalding and Wisbech on a long straight road, a cafe juke box with 50s music and pinball machines. With some kind of classic American car parked outside. Felt exactly like the mid-west. I guess thatโs why they put all those American airmen in Mildenhall and Lakenheath!

I remember going by train in the mid 80’s from Birmingham to Norwich (31 & MK2’s)
Rolling English Countryside to Peterborough, then Gods Friday Afternoon Job, looked like he was in a rush & just got a ruler out to draw the horizon
Rather nice in a bleak sort of way
I love it
