We saw what happens when the police decide that they have the power to close down peaceful protest by law-abiding people last weekend. But now the government wants to give the police many more powers to close down protests - including the right to prosecute someone for being annoying.
I plead guilty to being annoying on occasion, but this should never be the basis for criminal prosecution. This proposed law needs to be opposed by all those who think that society will need to change and adapt if it is to meet the challenges that we face in our future.

out of interest did you think ER climbing on top of tube trains and preventing 1000’s of ordinary golf getting to work annoying? Judging by their reaction the commuters on the platform certainly did

Do you think women would have got the vote without some being annoying?
People do get annoyed if they think their future survival is at stake due to government negligence as with the case with climate change. This may drive some protestors to sit on top of tube trains when blocking bridges had no response from the government after years of “normal” campaigning such as letter writing, lobbying MPs, marches, etc have had absolutely no effect whatsoever.
It is worrying that our institutions are being undermined. If the Tories can’t win they just change the election system to something less representative.
